An enquiry with the actress Mallika Sherawat is to take place upon the charges of a member belonging to a local Hindu Party filed at the Chennai Periamed Police. According to the complaint, on the Dasavatharam audio cassette release function day actress Mallika Sherawat was seen on the dais with Jackie Chan wearing a skirt. The written complaint also states that the appearance in the dress was a disrespect shown to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.Karunanidhi who participated in the function, beside the film personalities like director K.S.Ravi Kumar, Kamal Hassan and many others who took part in the function on that day. Wearing a skirt was against the Hindu culture and code of conduct, the member in his complaint added. He had also sought that action should be initiated against the organisers of the function at the Nehru Indoor Stadium.

Following the complaint by the member of the party, it is expected that the actress would be called for an enquiry.

If wearing of a skirt in a function, that too a person appointed as the Personal Assistant to a Hongkong based actor is wrong, then, is there any code prescribed by the party? asks many who came across the event.

At the function Jackie Chan told in front of all, that the actress Mallika Sherawat is like his sister. Many who were present at the event did not comment, instead they were engrossed in the function's activities, it is said.

Luckily, there was no 'dress code' prescribed for the mothers who deliver babies in hospitals !
